Costco cupcakes

I've been hearing about the Costco cupcakes for quite some time and finally got the opportunity to try them last Monday when they were purchased for a co-worker's birthday. I have always loved Costco cakes so I didn't have any doubt that I would like the cupcakes. Plus I kept hearing about how huge they are!

This picture doesn't quite portray their size, but they are about 2-2.5 times larger than your standard cupcake. And at $15.99 for a package of 20, that makes them a huge steal! I tried a small piece of both the chocolate and the vanilla.

Costco frosting is far superior to any supermarket frosting I have tried. It's not quite a buttercream, but thicker than your standard whipped frosting. The cake is very moist and delicious. I think the ideal flavor combination would actually be the chocolate cake with the vanilla frosting. These cupcakes are nothing fancy, but mighty delicious. I highly recommend them.

Agree, and you hit a valid point with frosting. A lot of commercial frosting is Crisco based.
