The other day I was in Walgreens picking up a prescription. Finding myself with a little extra time while waiting for Scott to arrive, I decided to explore the Christmas toy and candy isle. Among the knock off games and cheap stuffed animals, I saw this:

A quick Google search brought me to the same product being sold on Amazon (at least I think it's the same, the picture on the box is different).
The Amazon description reads "With the Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker, kids get a fun, easy, no-hassle introduction to baking. This educational and creative toy not only teaches the very basics of cooking--such as measuring and mixing--but its cupcake decorating accessories encourage kids to experiment with their own personal touches. If you have a microwave oven and an adult handy to supervise the fun, kids ages 8 and up can get started baking and decorating in no time."
I also found that Girl Gourmet makes a whole bunch of cupcake products for kids, including something called a Cupcake Sprinkle Dispenser. Awesome.

iGoogle Cupcake Theme from Crumbs

Today iGoogle launched food themes. As a lover of food I immediately went to check out my new homepage theme options. And then, there it was, among the Paula Deen theme, Holiday Treats theme, and 12 Days of Cookies theme - the CUPCAKES THEME!!

This awesome new iGoogle theme is designed by Crumbs Bakeshop and is a mighty fine addition to my iGoogle homepage.
A quick search of other iGoogle themes did reveal quite a few other cupcake themes, so I'm not sure why I never thought of this before, but the Crumbs one is by far my favorite.

Johnny + Ferris

Johnny Cupcakes is amazing. When this newish t-shirt showed up in my e-mail a month or 2 ago I almost died. I haven't bought it yet, though. It is almost the holiday season after all.

Jess's favorite movie + Jess's favorite baked good =

Best. Shirt. Ever.

Turkey!! Pre-Thanksgiving 2009

I made a whole turkey this year for the first time ever. It turned out really well and I'm super proud. At my mom's suggestion, I used the high temperature method, which you can read about on Gourmet.com.

The full spread

Next year I'm going to try a brine now that I'm feeling a little more confident in my bird making abilities. No cupcakes this year, but I think we had enough food :).

Halloween - Cupcake Pumpkin

This is a few weeks old now, but...

Hooray cupcake pumpkin! I modeled it after the cupcake in the Johnny Cupcakes logo. The pumpkin on the left is Scott's. He's way more into carving and has about 100x the patience for the task. Mine took 10 minutes, his took over an hour. It's all that outline shading. For those who don't know, this is what it's based on.

I'm surprised it's taken me this long to think to carve a cupcake into my pumpkin. As for costumes, we returned to the ever amazing group costume this year:

Love it.

Sexy cupcakes?

Victoria's Secret has jumped on the cupcake band wagon. Meet the Super Bling Tee (which unfortunately doesn't have matching super bling pajama pants):

I do LOVE these matching undies though:

And the Pink line of skivvies now all have this cupcake print as a pattern option:

I'm back!

OK, I'm going to try giving this a go again. I know it's been almost 6 months!

Today, thanks to Serious Eats, I learned about Alphabet Plates, which, in addition to other plate products, makes personalized plates with your favorite food. A cupcake is of course one of the options, but can we review the name they used on the sample?

Now I've very rarely gone by Jessie in my life, but I still find this amusing. And actually, when you go to Alphabet Plates' homepage, the image of the cupcake plate actually says "Jessica Loves Cupcakes." Think they've seen my blog?
